I have been researching the benefits of hydrogen peroxide for a while. For the moment I am only going to post some information on the subject. The particular benefits I am looking into is the food grade 35% hydrogen peroxide.
It is EXTREMELY important to note that this is a substance that needs to be treated with caution. If taken improperly it could result in injuries. For example a child drinking out the bottle would result in a trip to the ER- but the diluted dose (starting with 1 drop in a 8 oz cup of water in the morning of the first day and then 2 more times that day and adding one drop per day) will reap many benefits. It is also important to be careful when you handle the bottle. In its undiluted form it can upset the skin if it is in concentrated doses. Usually it just turns your skin white if its a little bit, but in extreme cases (if someone poured the bottle on their arm- which would be stupid to do) it can burn the skin and need medical treatment.
For those of you who have heard of the One Minute Cure and wanted to know more like myself, I hope you find this information helpful. Also, just for my peace of mind I want to remind you I am not a doctor (didnt want any needless lawsuits etc).

You can achieve the same beneficial effect with your house plants by adding one ounce of 3% hydrogen peroxide (or 16 drops of 35% solution) to every quart of water you give your plants. (It can also be made into an excellent safe insecticide. Simply spray your plants with 8 ounces of 3% peroxide mixed with 8 ounces of white sugar and one gallon of water.)
Hydrogen peroxide is odorless and colorless, but not tasteless. When stored under the proper conditions it is a very stable compound. When kept in the absence of light and contaminants it dissimulates, or breaks down, very slowly - at the rate of about 10% a year. (This can be slowed even further by storing the liquid in the freezer.) It boils at 152 degrees Celsius and freezes at minus 2 degrees Celsius.

Possible Reactions to Hydrogen Peroxide
Skin eruptions, nausea, sleepiness, unusual fatigue, diarrhea, colds, (in head or chest), ear infections, boils, or any other method that the body uses to emit toxins from the body! (The toxins have been rooted out by the use of hydrogen peroxide.)
This is the natural way for the body to cleanse and the natural cleansing will be of short duration, as you continue to maintain your program. Above all, even if you must decrease the dosage, it’s good to continue the program, don’t give up.
If you get a cleansing reaction, you may want to increase the dosage to hasten the cleansing. A cleansing is the effect of the body of bacteria dying off, or various forms of poisons being released through the eliminative organs of the body, i.e. skin, lungs, kidneys, and bowels.
Remember: When hydrogen peroxide comes in contact with virus and streptococcus, it will liberate free oxygen (O2).
This may be happening in your stomach. If your stomach feels uneasy, it is only the hydrogen peroxide seeking out the virus and streptococcus to destroy.

Emphysema

While most conditions respond remarkably to oral ingestion, emphysema is one condition in which intravenous infusion can be a godsend. Emphysema involves destruction of the alveoli (the small air sacs in the lungs). Although chemical fumes and other irritants can cause the destruction, it is most often the result of smoking. As the disease progresses, the patient finds it more and more difficult to breathe. A wheel chair and supplemental oxygen become necessary as the disease progresses. Lack of adequate oxygen reaching the tissues forces the heart to pump more forcefully. This leads to high blood pressure, enlargement of the heart itself and eventually heart failure. Conventional medicine offers little help for emphysema. There is no cure. The best that can be hoped for is symptomatic relief and the prevention of any serious complications that might result in death. H202 therapy can offer more. Using 1 ounce of 35% peroxide per 1 gallon of non-chlorinated water in a vaporizer improves nighttime breathing tremendously. But intravenous infusion holds the real key to relief. It has the ability to cleanse the inner lining of the lungs and restore the ability to breathe.
We continue to hear the same story from Dr. Farr and others who use intravenous infusion for emphysema and congestive lung problems. Within minutes oxygen from hydrogen peroxide begins to bubble up between the membrane lining the lungs sacs and the accumulated mucus. (Dr. Farr refers to this as the “Alka-Seltzer effect.”) The patient begins to cough and expel the material that has accumulated in the lungs. The amount of bubbling, coughing, and cleansing can be regulated by simply turning the H202 on and off. As the peroxide clears the lung surface and destroys the bacterial infections, the patient regains the ability to breath more normally. We continue to receive reports from patients for whom the technique has improved breathing so much that a wheelchair and supplemental oxygen are no longer needed. Unfortunately, the oils rich in these fatty acids have become less and less popular with the food industry. Their very nature makes them more biologically active, which requires more careful processing and gives them a shorter shelf-life. Rather than deal with these challenges, the food industry has turned to the use of synthetic fats and dangerous processes like hydrogenation.

Grades of Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is available in various strengths and grades.
A) 3.5% Pharmaceutical Grade: This is the grade sold at your local drugstore or supermarket. This product is not recommended for internal use. It contains an assortment of stabilizers which shouldn’t be ingested. Various stabilizers include: acetanilide, phenol, sodium stanate and tertrasodium phosphate.
B) 6% Beautician Grade: This is used in beauty shops to color hair and is not recommended for internal use.
C) 30% Reagent Grade: This is used for various scientific experimentation and also contains stabilizers. It is also not for internal use.
D) 30% to 32% Electronic Grade: This is used to clean electronic parts and not for internal use.
E) 35% Technical Grade: This is a more concentrated product than the Reagent Grade and differs slightly in that phosphorus is added to help neutralize any chlorine from the water used to dilute it.
F) 35% Food Grade: This is used in the production of foods like cheese, eggs, and whey-containing products. It is also sprayed on the foil lining of aseptic packages containing fruit juices and milk products. THIS IS THE ONLY GRADE RECOMMENDED FOR INTERNAL USE. It is available in pints, quarts, gallons or even drums. Various suppliers are mentioned later in this article.
G) 90%: This is used as an oxygen source for rocket fuel.
Only 35% Food Grade hydrogen peroxide is recommended for internal use. At this concentration, however, hydrogen peroxide is a very strong oxidizer and if not diluted, it can be extremely dangerous or even fatal. Any concentrations over 10% can cause neurological reactions and damage to the upper gastrointestinal tract. There have been two known fatalities in children who ingested 27% and 40% concentrations of H202. Recently, a 26 month old female swallowed one mouthful of 35% H202. She immediately began vomiting, followed by fainting and respiratory arrest. Fortunately, she was under emergency room care and although she experienced erosion and bleeding of the stomach and esophagus, she survived the incident. When she was re-examined 12 days later, the areas involved had healed (J Toxicol Clin Toxicol 90;28(1):95-100).
35% Food Grade H202 must be
1) handled carefully (direct contact will burn the skin–immediate flushing with water is recommended).
2) diluted properly before use. 3) stored safely and properly (after making a dilution the remainder should be stored tightly sealed in the freezer).
One of the most convenient methods of dispensing 35% H202 is from a small glass eye dropper bottle. These can be purchased at your local drugstore. Fill this with the 35% H202 and store the larger container in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator until more is needed. Store the eye dropper bottle in the refrigerator. The generally recommended dosage is outlined in the chart below. The drops are mixed with either 6 to 8 ounces of distilled water, juice, milk or even aloe vera juice or gel. (Don’t use chlorinated tap water to dilute the peroxide!)
Suggested Protocol
The program outlined is only a suggestion, but it is based on years of experience, and reports from thousands of users. Those who choose to go at a slower pace can expect to progress more slowly, but that certainly is an option. The program is not carved in stone and keep in mind that it can be adapted to fit individual needs. Individuals who have had transplants should not undertake an H202 program. H202 stimulates the immune system and could possibly cause a rejection of the organ.

Maintenance Dosage
In most situations after the above 21 day program, the amount of H202 can be tapered off gradually as follows:
25 drops once every other day for 1 week
25 drops once every third day for 2 weeks
25 drops once every fourth day for 3 weeks
This can then be reduced to between 5 and 15 drops per week based on how one feels. Those with more serious problems will often benefit from staying on 25 drops three times a day for one to three weeks, then tapering down to 25 drops two times daily until the problem is resolved (possibly as long as six months). Those with chronic systemic Candidiasis may need to start with 1 drop three times a day, then 2 drops three times a day before starting the above schedule. It is important that H202 be taken on an empty stomach. This is best accomplished by taking it either one hour before meals or three hours after meals. If there is food in the stomach, the reaction of H202 on any bacteria present may cause excess foaming, indigestion, and possibly even vomiting. Additionally, some animal research indicates that when H202 given orally combines with iron and small amounts of vitamin C in the stomach, hydroxyl radicals are created (J Inorg Biochem 89;35(1):55-69). The bleach-like aftertaste of H202 can be lessened by chewing one of the sugar-free cinnamon gums. Some individuals taking H202 immediately before bedtime have a difficult time getting to sleep. This is probably due to a sense of alertness triggered by an increase of oxygen at the cellular level. The oral dosage schedule is basically the same for all conditions. There are several points to keep in mind, however.
Some individuals may experience upset stomach. If this occurs it is recommended that one not stop the program, but rather remain at the current dosage level or reduce it to the previous level until the problem stops. (Some patients have been able to solve the nausea problem by taking three or four lecithin capsules at the same time they take the H202.) During the program it’s not uncommon to experience what is known as a healing crisis. As dead bacteria and toxins are released from your body it may temporarily exceed your capacity to eliminate them quickly enough. In some individuals this overload may cause fatigue, diarrhea, headaches, skin eruptions, cold or flu-like symptoms, and/or nausea. One should not discontinue using the peroxide to stop this cleansing. By continuing the program, toxins will clear the body sooner and this healing crisis will pass rather quickly.
If you are not already taking vitamin E and an acidophilus product, I recommend starting them before going on H202. Vitamin E can make more efficient use of any oxygen available and acidophilus will help re-establish the beneficial bacterial flora in the lower bowel and also help in the internal production of hydrogen peroxide.
Making and Using 3% Solutions of H202
A 3.5% solution can be made quite easily by first pouring 1 ounce of 35% H202 into a pint jar. To this add 11 ounces of distilled water. This will make 12 ounces of 3.5% H202. 3.5% H202 has a variety of medicinal uses.
1. Three tablespoons mixed with a quart of non-chlorinated water makes a good enema or douche formula.
2. It can be used full strength as a mouthwash or mixed with baking soda for toothpaste.
3. It can be used full strength as a foot bath for athlete’s foot. (Diabetics have found relief from circulation problems by soaking their feet in 1 pint of 3% peroxide mixed with 1 gallon of warm, non-chlorinated water for 30 minutes nightly.)
4. A tablespoon added to 1 cup of non-chlorinated water can be used as a nasal spray. Depending on the degree of sinus involvement, one will have to adjust the amount of peroxide used. I have seen some who can use it at the full 3% strength and others who had difficulty with using a few drops and mixed with a cup of water.
5. 3.5% H202 can be added to pets drinking water at the rate of 1 ounce per quart of non-chlorinated water. Sick cattle reportedly benefit from 1 pint (of 3%) to each 5 gallons of water. (Chickens and cows have remained healthy by using 8 ounces of 35% H202 per 1,000 gallons of drinking water.)

You should also be aware that there are now numerous hydrogen peroxide products on the market. Some are simply peroxide that has been flavored and mixed with sea minerals, aloe vera, inner tree bark or other ingredients to make the peroxide more palatable (Superoxy, Oxy Toddy, etc.).
Others claim to have developed products that deliver more oxygen than does simple hydrogen peroxide (Aerox, Anti-Oxid-10, Di-Oxychloride, Aerobic 07, Aqua Pure, etc.). Basically you’ll end up paying a small fortune and at best achieving the same results you can get for pennies by using hydrogen peroxide.
Conclusion
Hydrogen peroxide is one of the few simple miracle substances still available to the public. Its safety and multiple uses ranks it right up there with DMSO. If you’ve never used either of these compounds you are overlooking two of the most powerful healing tools ever discovered. Most of us started on hydrogen peroxide shortly after birth. Not only does mother’s milk contain high amounts of H202, the amount contained in the first milk (colostrum) is even higher. This seems only reasonable now that we know one of its main functions is to activate and stimulate the immune system. Although I am a strong supporter of H202 therapy, I am not suggesting that everyone needs to be using it. There are probably some individuals whose health and well-being would not be enhanced with hydrogen peroxide. But there are also millions of others who are suffering needlessly because they either do not know about hydrogen peroxide or they have been misinformed about its use.

Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy: Supplement to The Art of Getting Well
Editor’s note: this is a very important article. Most of what I have read, don’t explain what the hydrogenperoxide does in your body. This does. It explains the miraculous changes I have experienced, and I have read in other literature, like the book, One Minute Cure for all Diseases
Here is the gist of what you will learn: What we think and hear, that hydrogenperoxide consumption provides additional oxygen to the oxygen deprived cells is both false and true: the complete truth, in layman’s language is: the hydrogen peroxide nudges the cell to take the oxygen that is available… and that is a big difference. Oxygen deprived cells may be oxygen deprived in a very oxygen rich environment, just like in diabetes type 2, the cells are glucose deprived in a very sweet environment. So the hydrogen peroxide forces the cell to open itself t the oxygen and use it… that is how cancer, etc. get killed. A cancer cell that gets the oxygen in dies as a result… and normal cells gain an incredible amount of health as a result, so much that they can fight off disease vigorously.
Quote: Cancer and many other degenerative diseases are thought to be the results of poor cellular oxidative processes. They are not the results of a reduced supply of oxygen. Persons with anemias or severe lung disease may have an oxygen deficit but do not necessarily have a greater incidence of Cancer or chronic diseases. I must report on this promising therapy, as so many physicians and patients have given me good tidings from its use. What is probably not so well known by the general public, and many practicing physicians, is that hydrogen peroxide has been used for more than a century, the abstracts of articles published from 1966 through 1988 alone reaches 2″ high when printed on 8-1/2″X11″ paper.
A number of clinics in the United States and Mexico use hydrogen peroxide therapy, as well as other treatment modalities, on a routine basis, usually given by intravenous injection (IV).
Before scoffing, keep in mind that one of the very first lines of defense against any and all microorganisms recognized as invaders by our immunological system are macrophages and leucocytes, one of which uses hydrogen peroxide to oxidize the foreigners; and that vitamin C is effective principally by its ability to promote hydrogen peroxide use against foreign invaders, including parasites, viruses, bacteria, yeast/fungus; and that all body tissues contain catalase and that hydrogen peroxide in the presence of catalase is reduced to oxygen and water. So, there is strong reason to believe that added hydrogen peroxide, used properly, may be both effective against certain organisms and safe.
Hydrogen peroxide is an essential metabolite, meaning that it is necessary to life’s process, according to William Campbell Douglass, M.D. of Georgia.
As we age, our immunological system weakens, which permits organisms of opportunity to spread, thereby breeding colonies of organisms whose presence is anathema to good health. Killing these organisms should permit at least temporary respite from microbial warfare, and give your system time to heal.
According to William Campbell Douglass, M.D.2, not only is H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) involved in phagocytosis (killing and absorption of foreign germs), but also “it acts like insulin in that it aids the transport of sugar through the body.” Is is also at least as important, or perhaps more so, than thyroid for heat generation because it creates “intraceullar thermogenesis, a warming of your cells which is absolutely essential to life’s processes.”
Various physicians, including some of our referral physicians, also use hydrogen peroxide therapy for various ailments. Physicians have independently discovered such treatments to be effective against some types of cancer, leukemia, arthritis, coronary heart disease, arterial circulation disorders, colitis, gum diseases, and assorted children’s diseases.
The First International Conference of Bio-oxidative Medicine was held February 17-19, 1989 in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. Physicians presented papers on the efficacy and safety of hydrogen peroxide infusions. Since that date the non-profit International Bio-Oxidative Medicine Foundation2 has grown rapidly, attracting many physicians who have also presented many scholarly works based on their work with patients.
While Chelation Therapy is an extremely useful treatment and preventive measure for at least 80% of peripheral circulation problems, it apparently cannot clean out hardened plaque in arteries, like the large heart arteries and the aorta.3
According to Douglas, the Baylor University Medical Center may “have gone a long way toward proving that H2O2 dripped into the leg and carotid vessels of patients known to have severe arteriosclerosis will clear those arteries of disease. When these patients died, autopsies were done to compare arteries that had been treated with H2O2 with those not treated. They reported: `The elution [separation] of lipids from the arterial wall by dilute hydrogen peroxide has been accomplished. . . .’ In simple English that means the plaque buildup was removed by injecting H2O2 into the blood vessels. . . . That was over 20 years ago.”4
Dr. Douglass added that, “The investigators also reported that the improvement is not temporary.”
While H2O2 has been used to good advantage for hardening of the arteries, temporal arteritis, shingles, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the yeast syndrome, various viral infections, including AIDS, certain forms of cancer, dental gum diseases, colds (35% H2O2 in cold humidifier), growing better food, purifying water without chlorine complications, increasing thyroid activity, arthritis, depression, emphysema, lupus erythematosis, multiple sclerosis, . . ., a list of claims made would exceed our space limitations, and so I direct you to others for substantiation and research reports: The International Bio-Oxidative Foundation5 and ECHOS6, as per references.
A word of caution: while many reputable physicians and researchers have made legitimate claims on the safety and efficacy of H2O2 , it is my opinion that there are a lot of scam artists using or selling H2O2 , and so one must be careful. 7 I believe that you can rely on the work of the International Bio-Oxidative Medicine Foundation and ECHOS.
There are also many important forgotten facts in the past medical literature. For example, William Campbell Douglass, M.D. reports on “Dr. Edward C. Rosenow, author of 450 published medical papers and associate at the Mayo Clinic for over 60 years . . . proved [more than] 70 years ago (1914) that bacteria could be found consistently in the lymph nodes that drain joints (J.A.M.A., April 11, 1914). He was probably the first scientist to postulate that H2O2 would help arthritis because of its ability to supply oxygen to oxygen-hating organisms causing arthritis (Streptococcus viridans).”
Charles H. Farr, M.D., Ph.D., says, “Perhaps we have become myopic about biological oxidation! The majority of investigational studies seem to concentrate on the damaging effects of biological oxidation and the production of free radicals. Hydrogen peroxide is usually treated as a[n] intermediate or by-product of metabolism and considered of minor significance in metabolic pathways except as it relates to biochemical disruption, tissue or cellular damage.
We feel the physiological effects of bio-oxidation and, in particular hydrogen peroxide, should be investigated with a new prospect.
From the 2,500 or more references on hydrogen peroxide we have collected and reviewed we have come to appreciate this physiological product as a[n] extremely important molecule in metabolism. Hydrogen peroxide is produced by all cells of the body for many different physiological reasons. The granulocytes produce H2O2 as a first line of defense against bacteria, yeast, virus, parasites, macrophages, and most fungi. It is involved in any metabolic pathway which utilize oxidases, peroxidases, cyclo-oxygenase, lipoxygenase, myeloperoxidase, catalase and probably many other enzymes. Hydrogen peroxide is involved in protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, immunity, vitamin and mineral metabolism or any other system you might wish to explore.
Our studies demonstrate a positive metabolic effect to intravenous infusion of H2O2 . Its ability to oxidize almost any physiological or pathological substance, in addition to producing increased tissue and cellular oxygen tensions, has proven it to have therapeutic value.

Two Means of Administration
There are two ways to administer hydrogen peroxide for medical purposes. Both means require a pure grade of hydrogen peroxide which is something different than one can purchase at the drug store for topical treatment of sores and wounds. The 3% drugstore hydrogen peroxide also contains tin and phosphate compounds that are dangerous to consume either by means of IV (intravenous) or orally.

I must caution at the outset that Dr. Farr and some other physicians11 do not approve of use of H2O2 for oral treatment, as so many treatment modalities describe9. The exact method for oral administration can also be obtained from ECHO.
Dr.Farr, and some other physicians, feel that free-radicals are produced in the stomach when H2O2 is administered orally, and these free-radicals are not safe. Combinations of fatty acids which are likely to be in the stomach in the presence of iron and ascorbate may reduce hydrogen peroxide to hydroxyl and superoxide free radicals. These may have a deleterious effect upon the gastric and duodonal mucosa, with an increase of glandular stomach erosion, duodonal hyperplasia (abnormal increase in number of cells), adenoma and carcinoma, although in rats there seems to be inconsistencies in the studies related to carcinogenesis using 0.8% concentration for ten weeks versus 1% concentration for 32 weeks, the former indicating carcinogensis, the latter not so.
Since some clinics are using both intravenous and oral techniques with patients successfully, or to some good advantage, apparently not all possible research is in on the subject of oral versus IV administration.
I have twice tried the oral method, and have failed to continue onward, because of a terrible, revolting nausea. Some folks react similarly, others don’t, and some persevere despite all.
As stated earlier, Dr. Farr’s research demonstrates that hydrogen peroxide stimulates oxidative enzymes which increases the metabolic rate. Intravenous use rapidly relieves allergenic reactions, influenzal symptoms, chronic systemic candidiasis, acute viral reactions as a result of the oxidation of antigenic substances and regulation of immune system functions.
To prepare the IV (intravenous) solutions, Dr. Farr begins with 30% H2O2 of USP food or cosmetic grade. Thirty percent H2O2 is a powerful oxidizer and should be handled with extreme caution.
The 30% solution is diluted with equal amounts of sterile distilled water to make a 15% stock solution. The stock solution is passed through a Millipore 0.22mm medium flow filter for sterilization and removal of particulate matter. The stock solution is stored in 100 ml sterile containers and kept refrigerated for future use.
His infusion solutions are then prepared using sterile 5% dextrose in water. The addition of 1/4 ml sterile of the 15% H2O2 stock solution to each 100 ml of carrier solution produces a 0.0375% concentration that is finally used for the intravenous infusions.
Dr. Farr further warns that “caution must be exercised that nothing is added to the H2O2 solution because of its tremendous oxidizing power. Even ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is rapidly oxidized to the mono-dehydroascorbate radical, an unstable compound which degrades into numerous other chemical fragments. . . . Vitamins, minerals, peptides, enzymes, amino acids, heparin, EDTA, or other injectable materials should never be mixed with the H2O2 solution.”
By far the widest use for hydrogen peroxide, whether wisely or not, seems to be that of oral use, where a 35% “food grade” is diluted to a 3% concentration by use of 1 ounce of 35% H2O2 to 11 ounces of distilled water. The 3% concentration is then used by quantities of drops in distilled water, increasing the dosages and number of oral treatments daily throughout a number of weeks.
Many have made the claim that a “die-off” effect is observed, similar in nature to the Herxheimer Effect510.

There are many other uses for hydrogen peroxide for health purposes than simply topical use on sores, or intravenous therapy. With permission from ECHO4, the following is presented:
Other Uses for H2O2
Use 3% solution, except where 35% is highlighted.
Vegetable soak: Add 1/4 cup to a full sink of cold water. Soak light-skinned (like lettuce) 20 minutes, thicker skinned (like cucumbers) 30 minutes. Drain, dry and refrigerate. Prolongs freshness. If time is a problem, spray vegetables (and fruits) with a solution of 3%. Let stand for a few minutes, rinse and dry.
Leftover tossed salad: Spray with a solution of 1/2 cup water and 1 Tbsp. 3%. Drain, cover and refrigerate.
To freshen kitchen: Keep a spray bottle in the kitchen. Use it to wipe off counter tops and appliances. It will disinfect and give the kitchen a fresh smell. Works great in the refrigerator and kid’s school lunch boxes.
Marinade: Place meat, fish, or poultry in a casserole (avoid using aluminum pans). Cover with hydrogen peroxide. Place loosely covered in refrigerator for 1/2 hour. Rinse and cook.
In the dishwasher: Add 2 ozs to your regular washing formula.
Sprouting seeds: Add 1 oz. to a pint of water and soak the seeds overnight. Add the same amount of hydrogen peroxide each time you rinse the seeds.
House and garden plants: Put 1 oz. in 1 quart of water. Water or mist plants with this solution.

Insecticide spray: Mix 8 ozs. white sugar, 4-8 ozs. hydrogen peroxide in 1 gallon of water.
Humidifiers and steamers: Mix 1 pint to 1 gallon of water.
Laundry: Add 8 ozs. to your wash in place of bleaches.
Shower: Keep a spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide in the shower. Spray your body after washing to replace the acid mantle of your skin that soap removes.
Facial: Use on a cotton ball as a facial freshener after washing. (Remember: do not use 35% grade!)
Rejuvenating detoxifying bath: Add 6 ozs. to 1/2 tub of water. May increase hydrogen peroxide up to 2 cups per bath. Soak at least 1/2 hour.
Alternate bath: Add 1/2 cup 35% H2O2 , 1/2 cup sea salt, and 1/2 cup baking soda or epsom salts to bath water and soak.
Foot soak: Add 1-1/2 ozs. 35% H2O2 to 1 gallon water and soak.
Athlete’s foot: Soak feet nightly until condition is improved.
Mouthwash: Add a dash of liquid chlorophyll for flavoring if desired.
Toothpaste: Use baking soda and add enough to make a paste. Or just dip your brush in it and brush.
Douche or enema: Add 6 Tbls. to a quart of distilled water. 6 Tbls. is the maximum amount to use.
Pets: For small animals (dogs & cats) use 1 oz. to 1 qt. of water.
Agriculture: Use 8 ozs. 35% H2O2 per 1000 gallons of water. If you do not have an injector, start out by using 1 tsp. 35% H2O2 in the drinking cup at the stanchion.
Drinking water of ailing cows: Use 1 pt., to 5 gallons of water. To drench sick calves, put 1/3 pt. bottle and fill remainder with water. Do this twice a day. For an adult cow, use the same procedure, but use a quart.
Foliage feed crops: put 5 to 16 ozs. of 35% H2O2 into 20 gallons of water. This is sufficient for 1 acre. Spray on plants early in the morning when the dew is still on them and the birds are singing.
Hydrogen peroxide has been a recognized medicinal source since at least the 1800’s, has gone into disrepute, and now seems to lie in a sort of limbo, so far as established medicine is concerned.
However, research has progressed forward on its use throughout the world, and American doctors of a more open-minded view are persisting in learning its good effects.
Again I caution the reader that there is controversy between the use of oral hydrogen peroxide and use of IV (intravenous) treatment. You must study the issues and come to your own judgement. But please make an educated decision, and whichever you decide, find a physician who knows what he/she is doing.
Stimulation of Oxidative Enzymes
Charles H. Farr, M.D., Ph.D. has used hydrogen peroxide clinically, and has reported on research that he performed that sheds a great deal of light on how H2O2 functions. Contrary to popular belief, the use of H2O2 by either infusion or orally cannot supply as much oxygen as a good, deep breath. Instead, it is the stimulation of oxidative enzymes that does the useful trick. Dr. Farr’s conclusions are appropriate and follow:
Dr. Farr says612, “There are a number of commercial products [that] claim to contain more oxygen on a volumes percent basis than Hydrogen Peroxide and consequently this has been interpreted as meaning they would somehow have more biological activity. There is a great deal of confusion about the difference between the terms `Oxygenation’ and `Oxidation’ when applied to biochemical reactions. A product which contains more oxygen per molecule may or may not have any biological activity.
“We reported113 Intravenous Hydrogen Peroxide has an oxidative stimulatory effect when administered to man which appears to be independent of the amount of oxygen produced.
“Hydrogen Peroxide is a very simple molecule produced by almost every cell in the body. This amazing molecule, essential for life in both plant and animal, has been generally overlooked for it’s role in oxidative metabolism. Every chemist knows any reaction must have an opposite reaction to balance the equation. This applies equally to reactions in the test tube and in living cells. The world seems to have been caught up in the idea all biological oxidation is harmful because free-radicals may be produced. Free-radicals can cause lipid peroxidation and membrane damage. Consequently many products, containing anti-oxidants, are being promoted to prevent peroxidation. Some researchers714, including this author, feel peroxidation serves a useful purpose in the biochemical balance and may need stimulating at times instead of preventing.
“Hydrogen Peroxide as an oxidizer, under certain catalytic conditions, can degrade into water and oxygen.
“The fact that Hydrogen Peroxide may increase oxygen tension in the tissue is of secondary importance. Any student of biochemistry knows the principal reaction of an oxidizer, such as Hydrogen Peroxide, is to accept electrons in the RedOx [reduction/oxidation] reactions of the body and has nothing to do with “Oxygen” or “Oxygenation.” It is true Hydrogen Peroxide increases the rate of oxidation in the body815, but this is not because it produces oxygen but rather it stimulates oxidative enzymes.
“Hydrogen Peroxide is a naturally produced purposeful molecule in the body. It functions to aid membrane transport, acts as a hormonal messenger, regulates thermogenesis (heat production), stimulates and regulates immune functions, regulates energy production and many other important metabolic functions. These effects can occur without increasing the amount of oxygen. It is purposely used by the body to produce Hydroxyl Radicals to kill bacteria, virus, fungi, yeast and a number of parasites. This natural killing or protective system has nothing to do with increasing the amount of available oxygen.
“The amount of oxygen produced by a therapeutic infusion of Hydrogen Peroxide is very small. A single breath of fresh air contains many times more oxygen than found in either a therapeutic infusion or in a few drops of 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide taken orally.
“Claims are being made that molecules containing Oxygen and Chlorine, Chlorine or Chlorite ions will sterilize water, milk and almost anything to which they have been added. Chlorine is added to almost all public water supplies for the same purpose. The small amount of oxygen in these molecules have very little to do with this sterilization process. There are many more aerobic (requires oxygen) than anerobic (does not use oxygen) bacteria and increasing the oxygen supply may actually stimulate the growth of the aerobic bacteria. `Oxygen supply’ or `Oxygenation’ is not a credible basis for the promotion of these products. Oxidation is the key word and not Oxygenation.
“Oxidation is the removal of an electron from a molecule which changes electrical energy of the molecule into an oxidized state. The oxidizing agent which accepts the electron through this reaction becomes reduced. This reaction takes place in many biochemical reactions in which OXYGEN is not involved. In oxidative reactions in which Hydrogen Peroxide is involved, oxygen is released when the Hydrogen Peroxide, acting as an oxidizer, is reduced but it is the transfer of the electrons which is important and not the production of Oxygen.
“Manufacturers of products which claim to have the same effect as Hydrogen Peroxide may not have a good understanding of the biochemical role of Hydrogen Peroxide in the body. Some of these products claim to provide more oxygen molecules than Hydrogen Peroxide and that may be true but I know of no scientific evidence to show this enhances oxidative metabolism. Cancer and many other degenerative diseases are thought to be the results of poor cellular oxidative processes. They are not the results of a reduced supply of oxygen. Persons with anemias or severe lung disease may have an oxygen deficit but do not necessarily have a greater incidence of Cancer or chronic diseases. The problem is not the delivery of oxygen to the cells but utilization by the cells. Hydrogen Peroxide affects utilization or oxidation dramatically whereas hyper-oxygenated or chlorinated molecules have not been shown to be necessary in the body to improve oxidative metabolism9.”
Many physicians and clinics are effectively using Hydrogen Peroxide intravenously with their patients.
There is a ton of literature favoring Hydrogen Peroxide treatment for various medical conditions10.16

As you will read below, there are quite a few ways that our readers report taking hydrogen peroxide. Some folks put a few drops of food grade (35%) peroxide in water and drink it. Others are big fans of 3% drugstore peroxide -- they bathe in it; splash it on their skin; add it to a sterilized nasal pump and inhale it through the mouth and into the lungs; or soak it in the ears for a few minutes to get rid of viruses. We'll leave it up to you to decide how you want to try it.
Note: Regular bottles of 3% hydrogen peroxide (bought at any drugstore for under $1) is the type of peroxide most commonly referred to below from our readers for the ears. The only grade recommended for internal use is 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide, which must be properly diluted down to 3% with water.

COLDS AND FLU:
We heard about this practice years ago. It is reportedly a common practice in India and Germany... During flu season, fill the cap of a bottle of hydrogen peroxide with the liquid, lay down on your side, and pour it into one ear. After a few seconds, the liquid will bubble. Lay with the peroxide fizzing for 5 or 10 minutes, then shake the peroxide out. Repeat on the other ear. This remedy is supposed to cures colds that are already in progress - causing the symptoms to begin to clear up within a few hours. Note: If the virus has been in your blood for some time, this will not work!

Ted from Bangkok writes, "Yes, the pharmaceuticals are threatened by hydrogen peroxide cures! Last time, about 120 years ago (during the reign of Queen Victoria), people in India (a British colony then) found that Hydrogen peroxide added in small amounts to drinking water cured a variety of sickness especially colds, flu, cholera, malaria, etc. It threatened the British monopoly drug sales, so they issued a fake news by hiring a news reporter disguised as a doctor to put out the information to the effect that taking hydrogen peroxide causes viral brain damage. It sounded believable, but the child who died of the hydrogen peroxide caused viral brain damage was non-existent.
It worked and the people in India went to buying British drugs, while suppressing India's own Ayurvedic medicine from any sales. It is amazing that Ayurvedic medicine actually survived under British threat for more than 200 years of occupation!
It has happened during the Queen Victoria era, and now it is happening again. History repeats itself, only this time, we now have the internet, which at least for now, the information is free. No doubt, freedom of information is something we just have to always be vigilant and fight for."

11/21/2006: True enough, if a $.79 home remedy jeopardizes the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical and medical industries, there will be an effort to squash it as either dangerous, ineffective, or both. Since July (when we started to receive anti-H202 emails), more articles are appearing on the internet and in magazines about the dangers and ineffectiveness of drinking hydrogen peroxide as reported by the FDA. The latest article we just read came from Consumer Reports, December 2006, page 53. They devote an entire column to the dangers of hydrogen peroxide. The title: "Safety Alert: Hydrogen Peroxide Isn't For Drinking". The article references several websites promoting H202 as a cure for cancer. No doubt the author came to this page too!
To quote from the article: "The idea behind ingesting hydrogen peroxide stems from a now-discredited theory that cancer and AIDS thrive on a lack of oxygen in the body."
Ummmm, discredited by what studies? Show us!
According to the FDA, when taken orally H202 might cause gastrointestinal irritation or ulcers. Hey, so does ibuprofen, which also causes acid reflux in people. We seriously doubt there are many people foolish enough to swallow large quantities of peroxide and suffer these purported side effects. (The standard dosage for food grade peroxide is 3-4 drops per 8 oz of distilled water.) If there are indeed people suffering side effects from these minute dosages, we'd like to see the reports.

Hemorrhagic gastritis and gas emboli after ingesting 3% hydrogen peroxide.

Department of Emergency Medicine, Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital and Chonnam Medical School, Gwangju, South Korea.
It is well known that ingestion of low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide is usually nontoxic; this does not produce gas embolism and is only a mild irritant to the gastrointestinal tract. We report the case of a 25-year-old woman who ingested one mouthful of 3% hydrogen peroxide and presented to the Emergency Department with persistent vomiting and epigastric pain. The radiographic evaluation found portal venous gas emboli. In addition, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy performed 2 h after ingestion revealed diffuse hemorrhagic gastritis. She showed a decrease of hemoglobin concentration and a positive test result for occult blood in stool. She was observed for 14 days and discharged. Follow-up endoscopy showed erythematous gastritis. This case illustrates that a low concentration of hydrogen peroxide can cause portal venous gas embolism and severe gastrointestinal injuries even if only a small amount is ingested."
4/2/2007: Ted from Bangkok writes, "No one uses 1% concentration for internal purposes either. So 3% is way beyond that.
In the alternative health field, the maximum is actually 0.5% concentration. Actually and optimum H2O2 concentration was first determined in 1950s by Dr. Reginald Holman by implanting Walker 256 adenocarcinoma tumours. The drinking water for the rat used H2O2 optimum concentration needed to kill the tumors were about 0.45 percent.
Tumours completely disappeared in 15 to 60 days in rats. Of course a better way is to add 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in the glass of 0.45% concentration of H2O2. This can be extended to treatment of almost any kinds of conditions, from virus, bacteria, microbial infections, pneumonia, tuberculosis, flu, etc. My own experience of using just baking soda (also increases the body's oxygen) and ascorbate vitamin C about three weeks for a small tumor to go into remission.
A more effective I think in the future of peroxide therapy is to add baking soda to the 0.45% concentration to normal drinking water since baking soda is alkaline and increases oxygen, while the peroxide furthers this natural increase. Ted"
CHECKING FOR STABILIZERS IN H202
Ted from Bangkok writes, "There is a simple way to see if Hydrogen Peroxide contains stabilizers: Pour 1/2 cap of hydrogen peroxide in a glass of water. If the color has yellow (or other off colors), it has a stabilizer. It is best to set it out in the sun where it is easier to see. If the H202 remains colorless when mixed in a glass of water, it usually does not have a stabilizer.
Almost all H2O2 sold in drug stores will have stabilizers, actually to discourage people to use them internally. So you can use this as a way to compare them. Basically, H2O2 poured into a clean glass and left out in a sun covered by a dish should not have air bubbles. If it does, there are metal contaminants. If you are asking for trouble, a drop of ammonia solution in H2O2 mixed in water will cause a rapid air bubble generation. It is more unstable if it has stabilizers. You can try the experiment and compare the results.
The test for this is not perfect one, but the key is the color, even when you add just a small amount of water in direct sunlight. Also, a good quality H2O2 doesn't get small bubbles during storage.
By the way, an easy way to test the quality of your drinking water is to add 10% of 3% H2O2 to 90% Water and perform the test by noticing air bubbles. If there are a lot of air bubbles for the next 6 hours, then the water has either too much organic residues OR heavy metals. During the test please keep in places AWAY from children. After the test immediately discard the contents into the sink. Ted"
09/14/2007: Ron from Temiskaming Shores, Canada writes: "Great site. I wanted to put my 2 cents in about Hydrogen Pyroxide (HP). I went to Wal-Mart to purchase some HP and when I got it home I noticed that my bottle of HP had the skull and cross bones on the front of it. Yikes!! The lable reads "POISON" because this particular brand contains stablizers. The previous brand that I bought did not have stablizers in it and did not have the skull and cross bones symbol on the front. I dont't think I want to try to ingest the poison type of HP. I think readers should be made aware that there is a difference and to be careful when buying HP, to make sure they find one without stablizers."
09/17/2007: Ted from Bangkok replies, "Remedies require food grade H2O2 except in instances of external use. H2O2 can't be labelled poison if it is for external use (as in antiseptics) since other contact poisons go directly through the skin killing you. Stabilizers can't do this. Most labeling no longer use the skull and bones, at least not on H2O2, since they often more cause skin burns if used in high concentration and are classified as caustic solutions. Even hydrochloric acid might also be considered a poison, but our stomach produce plenty of it. I don't think labels are consistent in classifying it"

2/15/2008: Dawn (R. N.) from Allen, Texas writes: "Hydrogen peroxide was once used for cleaning wounds but research has shown it is too harsh for wound care. It kills healthy tissue, is cytotoxic, and actually delays wound healing. Unfortunately, some health professionals have not kept current on changes in wound care and still recommend H2O2. I cannot comment on the other clains on your page, but H2O2 for wound care is definitely inappropriate."

04/18/2006: John from Sault Ste Marie, MI writes, "I'd be very wary of recommending that anyone use 35% hydrogen peroxide unless they've had HAZMAT training or the equivalent. At that concentration H2O2 is extremely corrosive and causes severe burns; in other words, it's a very hazardous chemical that even professional chemists (and I am one) must handle using appropriate safety equipment (rubber gloves, safety goggles, protective lab coat). I know this from experience because I was badly burned by 35% H2O2 while carrying out chemistry research. It's irresponsible to imply that this stuff is harmless and to recommend it to people who have no experience handling hazardous materials."
04/10/2009: David from Tampa, FL writes, "I have used food grade H2O for years and if you do spill it on yourself just rinse with water for a few minutes - it will turn your skin white and it is temporary and there is no prolonged damage. Yes, you do have to be careful but not afraid."
EARTH CLINIC'S ADDITIONAL WARNING NOTE:
Please be very careful when transporting food grade hydrogen peroxide after the bottle has been opened. Make sure you keep the bottle upright. Once the seal has been removed upon opening, these caps can leak. Food grade will cause the skin to burn and turn white. Yes, we learned the hard way! Luckily, skin will return to normal after 30 minutes or less if you rinse off the peroxide quickly. By the way, the same whitening of skin effect happens when you dip your fingertips in drugstore 3% H202 for a minute or more. It too goes away within 30 minutes...

Recently, while surfing the Internet looking at natural cures, I stumbled upon the One Minute Cure website that claims you can heal almost any disease by taking a daily dose of a particular product (not their own). At first, I thought that it was surely some sort of snake oil scam. But after doing some research, I began to think differently.
To understand how it works, you have to know a little bit about biology. And the key word here is aerobic. An aerobic organism is one that needs oxygen to survive. All people, plants and animals are aerobic organisms.
However, most bacteria and viruses that cause diseases are anaerobic. This means that they thrive in low oxygen environments. In most of us, our blood cells contain just a small amount of oxygen; providing an ideal environment for anaerobic organisms. This allows disease causing anaerobic bacteria and viruses to flourish within our bodies.
And the point of the One Minute Cure website is really simple; introduce more oxygen into your system and these dangerous disease causing anaerobic organisms will disappear; eliminating many diseases and making you healthier. After I learned this information, it all seemed very logical.
The site indicates that there are hundreds of physical problems and diseases that this natural therapy can cure. Among them are:

Arthritis
Bronchitis
Chronic Pain
Digestion Problems
Eczema
Headaches
Influenza

ReplyDeletewhat we have here in the philippine drugstores of hydrogen peroxide are 10 and 20 volumes.i learned that 10 vols is equivalent to 3% and 20 vols to 6%..is this correct? and if this is correct can i safely add drops to my drinking water and howmany drops? i believe hp has healing properties coz i had a very bad body odor but since i used it i dont smell bad anymore..tnx to hp.
